Anthropic's own figures show that 77 percent of API usage from businesses revolves around automation and coding. That's no small feat.
The comment section on r/ClaudeAI is quite excited. People are speculating about what the update actually contains, and several draw parallels to how OpenAI engineers occasionally appear on Twitter/X to reassure users after controversial changes. Is this Anthropic's version of the same pattern?
What we don't know yet is what the update itself is about. The content of the X post is not fully known from the thread alone, and this is an early signal from community sources — not verified by Anthropic itself. Take it with a grain of salt. But the fact that an engineer chooses to go public in this way, and that the subreddit reacts so quickly and strongly, is in itself a signal worth paying attention to.
If Anthropic is in the process of building a more open and direct communication culture around Claude Code, it could be a strategic move to gain market share from Copilot and Cursor in a market projected to grow towards almost $50 billion by 2034. Developers are loyal to tools they feel ownership over — and nothing creates that feeling faster than the team actually talking to them.
